7Prologue Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar AssociationVictor Dawes SCWe measure and mark time in various ways, whether through specific milestone moments, entire seasons and eras %u2013 or of course, anniversaries. I joined the profession when the Hong Kong Bar Association (%u201cHKBA%u201d) celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 1999. More than 2 decades on, I still have fond memories of those celebrations, when senior members recounted both %u2018the good old days%u2019 and a good few %u2018war stories%u2019.
