                                    12 Preliminariesother countries, participating in the advisory group and exchange sessions organised by the Department on GBA matters, and sending representatives to speak at our flagship events, such as the annual Legal Week and seminars on topical issues such as the one held in early 2024 on the new mechanism for cross-border recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters co-organised by the Department and the Supreme People%u2019s Court. Rule of law education has always been one of the Department%u2019s top priorities. To this end, we have formed a steering Committee on Rule of Law Education and rolled out the first phase of the Rule of Law Education Train-theLeaders Programme in 2023, which aims to train %u2018leaders%u2019 in various sectors of the community so that they can effectively and confidently impart proper and consistent knowledge relating to the rule of law to the general public, in particular the youth; and inspire others to develop a better understanding and respect for the rule of law. The programme received the generous support of Mr. Victor Dawes SC, Chairman of the HKBA, and other prominent members of the Bar who shared their professional views and practical experiences as the programme%u2019s speakers and participated in the interactive sessions. I wish to take the opportunity to express my utmost and sincere gratitude to the HKBA for its immense assistance and contributions throughout the years. I very much look forward to working closely with the HKBA in our future endeavours.
