Publicity statement

By attending events organised/co-organised by the Hong Kong Bar Association, you will have consented to photography, audio recording and video recording and their release, publication, exhibition or reproduction to be used for news, webcasts, promotions, advertising, inclusion on websites and social media, or any other purpose by the Hong Kong Bar Association. The images, photos, and/or videos may be used to promote similar events in the future.

The personal data provided on the registration system will be used by the Hong Kong Bar Association (HKBA) and/or its co-organiser(s) for the organisation of the enrolment, compilation of statistics, analysis, liaison work and/or promotion of activities of the event and verification of identity when handling payment.

In order to serve the specified purpose(s), the personal data collected may be transferred to agents and partners of the HKBA for administrative purpose(s). The information of participants registering as a trainee solicitor or young solicitor may be used for identity verification purposes, including but not limited to being transferred to the Law Society of Hong Kong.

All personal data collected by the HKBA will be kept confidential. The personal data collected will not be disclosed to third parties, other than those specified, without your prior approval, or unless required by law.

Unless otherwise indicated, all personal data requested under this registration system is required for the above purposes.

The provision of any incomplete or inaccurate information will result in delay or withdrawal of enrolment.

As a data subject, you have the right to request access to and correction of the personal data under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. To request access to or updating of personal data, please write to the Director of Administration and Development at LG2, High Court, 38 Queensway, Hong Kong.

Personal data collected and stored by HKBA will be discarded six months after completion of the event, except for those who make the expression that they wish to receive information on the HKBA’s future activities through the contact methods provided above in the “future engagement” section below.
